Melvin E. Archer, 80, Hamilton, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at the Liberty Hospital.
Funeral services for Melvin Archer were held Tuesday at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. Burial was at Winston Cemetery.

Mr. Archer was born July 13, 1924, to Oren and Laura Morris Archer. He had been a longtime resident of Hamilton. He had previously lived in Gallatin and Brookfield.
Mr. Archer served in the Army during WWII.
He had been a farmer for many years and had worked in several rock quarries throughout the area.
In 1980, he married his wife, Evelyn; she preceded him in death.
Mr. Archer was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mack and Marvin; a sister, Velma Thomas, a son, Billy, and a grandson and granddaughter.
Survivors include three daughters, Frances Young of Cameron, Kathline Almond of New Cambria, Judy Hedrick of Pasadena, Texas, and Donna Lyons of Bethany; three sons, Jack of Hamilton, Ed of Winston, and Rich of Kearney; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
