Funeral services for Romayne Jones were held Tuesday at Poland Thompson Chapel, Cameron. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Romayne Jones, 90, Cameron, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at a health-care center in Cameron.

Mrs. Jones was born in Gallatin, on Aug. 20, 1914, to Orphus and Cecil (Pollard) Carter. She was a graduate of Gallatin High School and a member of the Gallatin United Methodist Church.

Romayne worked as a bookkeeper for the Daviess County Courthouse and later at Leibrandts Jewelry Store in Cameron.

On June 22, 1940, she married Kenneth Jones. He died in August of 2004.

Survivors include two nieces, Carol Anne White, Liberty, and Linda Wasson, Westminster, Colo., along with several great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
