Helen Loraine Hon Maenhoudt Silver, 66, Hamilton, died on Oct. 24, 2004, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Mass for Helen Silver was held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday), Oct. 27, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton. Interment was at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Leukemia Society. Arrangements were by Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Helen Loraine Hon Maenhoudt Silver, 66, Hamilton, died on Oct. 24, 2004, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Born on Aug. 14, 1938, in Weston, to Scherel E. and Jean L. Timberlake Hon, she had graduated from Park Hill High School. She had lived in Hamilton since 1973.
Mrs. Silver had worked as a home health aide for Serve Link as well as previously working at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton, and had served as a board member for the Green Hills Community Action Agency.
On July 17, 1959, she married John Maenhoudt in Platte County. He died in 1989. Then on Nov. 22, 1996, she married Bernard Silver in Hamilton. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Silver was also preceded in death by her son, John David, her parents and two brothers, Scherel Jr. and David.
Other survivors include two sons, Thomas Maenhoudt, Gallatin, and Donald Maenhoudt, Hamilton; one daughter, Shirley Gueltzau, Maysville; one brother, Kenneth Hon, Kidder; two sisters, Barbara Cook and Myra Henson, Olathe, Kan.; seven stepchildren, Giles Silver, Warrensburg, Andy Silver, Elcjon, Calif., Jason Silver, Dearborn, Nathan Silver, Amity, Nicholas Silver, Hamilton, Monica Reed, Marceline, and Angela Ellis, Hamilton; five grandchildren; and 15 step grandchildren.
