Bob Bruner began as interim superintendent at Pattonsburg R-2 last Thursday morning. He will lead the school through the remainder of the school year, the ongoing investigative process, and until the district can secure replacement for a superintendent for 2005-2006.
Mr. Bruner retired from education in Missouri in 1997. Before 1997, he served 12 years in education in Tarkio as superintendent. For seven years prior to that he was with Worth County R-3 in Grant City. He taught in Bethany from 1969 to 1973, then served two stints in Nebraska as principal in 1973-1975. He held his first superintendency in 1975 and is in his 30th year as superintendent, the last seven in Nebraska. He retired in the state of Nebraska June 30, 2004.
Mr. Burner’s son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Jena Bruner, and two grandchildren live in Cameron. He will be staying with them through the week.
