Joseph M. Wilson, 76, St. Joseph, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services for Joseph Wilson, father of Ron Wilson of Gallatin, were held Saturday at Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors by the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program. The family suggests memorial gifts to Second Harvest Food Bank, Open Door Food Kitchen or American Heart Association.
Joseph M. Wilson, 76, St. Joseph, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at his home.
Mr. Wilson retired from Armour and Co. in 1972.
He was born Oct. 27, 1927, near Halls.
During World War II, he served with the United States Navy in the South Pacific.
On Dec. 8, 1978, he married Helen Bonita Young in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his first wife, Olive June (Walker) Wilson, in 1976; parents, James Clarence and Cora Agnes (Lentz) Wilson; and four brothers, Woodrow F., Clarence V., Billie V. and Carl L. Wilson.
He was a member of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church and Pony Express American Legion Post No. 359.
Other survivors include two other sons, Dan Wilson, Overland Park, Kan., and Steve Wilson, St. Joseph; three stepsons, Ronald D. Young, St. Joseph, James W. Young, Liberty, and D. Edward Young, St. Joseph; three brothers, Robert L. Wilson, Littleton, Colo., James W. Wilson, St. Joseph, and Ralph R. Wilson, Cosby; five sisters, Fern Sharp, Blair, Kan., Elsie Maxine Majewski, Springfield, Virginia A. Rutter, Anchorage, Alaska, Margaret J. Hicks, St. Joseph, and Ruth Anne Jones, Overland Park.
