Missouri Western’s Brice Garnett chalked up his second medalist award of the college golf season Tuesday by capturing the individual title in the Southwest Baptist Fall Invitational at Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar.

Garnett, a 2002 Gallatin R-5 graduate and son of Tom and Nancy Garnett of Gallatin, shot even rounds of 72 both days of the event and edged by one stroke Southwest Baptist’s Nick Layman. Garnett’s winning effort helped propel the Griffons to a second place team finish in the event.

Garnett also took medalist honors at the Sept. 13 Quincy University Tournament. Missouri Western won that team event.

Missouri Western travels to the NCAA Central Regional Invitational Sept. 27-28 at Wildflower Golf Course in Detroit Lakes, Mn.
