The dedication of the Daviess County Veterans Walk of Honor will be one of the highlights of the 19th annual Daviess County Chautauqua, set for Sept. 17-18-19 on the Gallatin square. The dedication of the memorial project will be held following the Chautauqua parade on Saturday.

Musical entertainment slated for this year’s Chautauqua includes the Girlfriends and gospel music on Friday night and the Elsea Smith Blues Band and the Krazy Kats on Saturday night.

Activities are planned throughout the day on Saturday, including many games and booths. There will be muzzleloader and civil war displays and an art show in the courthouse. The historic squirrel cage jail will be open for tours. The Gallatin Theatre League will present three performances of “Our ‘70s Show” at Courter Theatre on Saturday.

Entertainment by “Alpaca,” featuring South American music, and other performances will be presented under the tent on the south side of the courthouse. The annual baby show and talent show are featured activities on Saturday morning.

Sunday will feature the annual flea market around the square, tours of the historic jail, a “Ranch Rodeo” at Dockery Park, and two shows by the Gallatin Theatre League.
