James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that tube replacements continue.

Danny Heldenbrand reported that construction is scheduled to begin in Sheridan Township, BRO project (25), on Aug. 23.

Danny Heldenbrand reported having attended a VFW meeting with Jonathan Arnold, discussing the cannon restoration project. Reta Rains, treasurer, reported that to date, 90 bricks have been purchased.

David Holcomb moved to appoint Priscilla Whitt to the Workforce Investment Board following the recommendation of the Gallatin Rotary Club.

Karen Young, Daviess County Care Center, notified the commission of two vacancies on the Advisory Board. The matter was taken under advisement.

Bills were audited and paid.

Harmon Flowers reported a bridge problem in Lincoln Township on 327th Street. James Lewis will inspect and make repairs.

Jonathan and Mike Arnold met with the commission regarding Jonathan’s Eagle Scout project. Dedication of the cannon is scheduled for Sept. 18, 2004.

David Holcomb moved to appoint Marie Toney, Gallatin, and Deanna Lewis, Winston, to represent Daviess County on a multi-county board to oversee the donated funds for the victims of the May 29, 2004, tornado. The appointment was approved unanimously.
