James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that construction of the bridge in Marion Township has been completed and it will be open to traffic in 15 days. They are now beginning tube replacement and are requesting construction steel bids from three vendors.

Eric Maninga, Missouri Department of Transportation, met with the commission introducing himself as area operations engineer from Cameron.
Kevin Heldenbrand, sheriff, met with the commission reporting medical problems with a prisoner.
Jerry Frost of Frost Insurance met with the commission concerning the renewal of insurance coverage.
The commission received recommendations from the Daviess County Library Board for the appointment of Eleanor Best to fill an unexpired term until July 2005, and the re-appointment of Daren Adkins to a full term. The appointments were approved unanimously.
Danny Heldenbrand moved to close a portion of the meeting according to chapter 610,RSMo., to discuss litigation with the insurance company’s attorney. Motion carried unanimously. No decisions were made in closed session.
Notice was received from Missouri Department of Transportation of the approval for the preliminary engineering design of BRO project (26). A copy was also sent to Snyder & Associates to proceed with the design phase.
