A request was made for assistance on a drainage problem in Harrison Township; he was instructed to contact the township board.

The commission reviewed the actual expenses to the budget report. Bills were audited and paid.

A petition for the vacation of a public road in Grand River Township, on the section lines of 16 and 17, was read for the second time.

David Tolen reported having chaired a meeting of the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission on July 1 in Trenton.

The commission inspected the road on Unity Avenue, Sheridan Township, following the contracted brush removal. The brush was removed in compliance with the contract.

At 10 a.m., the pre-construction hearing on BRO project (23) was held with the engineer, the contractor and representatives from Missouri Department of Transportation. The construction contract was executed in the amount of $487,938.10. Construction is scheduled to begin July 26.

Reta Rains, treasurer, met with the commission reporting that the lease payment from the care center was not according to the lease agreement. This month is the five-year anniversary of the contract and the payment increased from $8,000 to $9,000 per month. The lessor was contacted and the correction will be made.

Jack Harding, Union Township met with the commission regarding his personal taxes. An abatement will be granted.

Betty Harmison, assessor, met with the commission regarding the BOE schedule.

Jonathan Arnold, Eagle Scout candidate, met with the commission concerning the cannon restoration project. The commission ordered the aluminum carriage from Paulson Brothers Ordnance Corporation, Clear Lake, Wisconsin, with delivery expected in five weeks.

Mark Huck, Harrington & Cortelyou, contacted the commission reporting that the BEAP study had been approved by the State. The evaluation will be done this week.

Danny Heldenbrand moved that a portion of the meeting be closed to discuss pending litigation with their attorney. Motion passed unanimously.

No decisions were made in closed session.
