Graveside service and burial for Della Shaw, formerly of Pattonsburg, was held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Civil Bend Christian Cemetery, Pattonsburg. Arrangement were by Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg.
Della L. Shaw, 88, Cameron, died July 4, 2004.
Mrs. Shaw was born Dec. 9, 1915, in McFall, the daughter of John D. and Eliza Belle (Sweat) Willis.
She attended country school at Fountain Bleu and Ricetown Schools. She had perfect attendance in 1925.
On Jan. 18, 1936, she married Alpha O. Shaw. He died on July 17, 1970.
She and Alpha made their home in the Pattonsburg area, where he was engaged in farming and she was employed at the cap factory for many years. She moved to Cameron in 1978 and resided at Meadow Acres until her health declined. She then moved to Cameron Manor in 1998, where she spent the remaining years of her life.
Mrs. Shaw was a member of the Oak Ridge Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by one son; six brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include sons Gary and Don Shaw, both of Pattonsburg; two daughters, June McClure of Sidney, Iowa, and Sue Shaw of Liberty; one brother Warren Willis of Albany; and two grandchildren.
