During their regular meeting held June 24, Supervisor Dana Carder advised the Daviess County Central 9-1-1 Board that the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) audit by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MHP) had been completed.
MULES is a statewide communications network used by the MHP and other law enforcement agencies. This was the first audit since the system had been installed.
Daviess County 9-1-1 received a score of 92% compliance, with the only problem areas being in criminal history and sign-off on the system.
“We were pleasantly surprised,” said Mrs. Carder of the audit. “We’ve had a lot of training, but as far as the filing, we had to make up our way as we went. There is no set way we had to do it; it’s all interoffice. They liked the way we had everything, easy to find and all in order. We thought we did real well.”
In other business, Mrs. Carder stated that four EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) re-certifications had been completed.
Dispatchers Jones and Richards presented several different schedules for consideration. The board agreed to try one schedule for two months; and if that one was not satisfactory, try another for two months.
Gene Walker was not able to attend the June 24 9-1-1 meeting but said he as still interested in being on the board. He was welcomed to the next meeting which will be July 29 at 8 p.m.
The treasurer’s report was accepted as presented with bills of $6,883.81, revenue of $28,197.20 and a bank balance of $61,651.30.
Concerning the retention of an attorney for the 9-1-1 board, Misse Tolen motioned to retain Frank Foster for one year at a cost of $500; the motion carried.
Chairman Belshe wanted it relayed to all employees that they had done a good job concerning the MULES audit.
In board member comments, Mark Richards addressed the insect problem in the dispatch center. He said he would talk to the commissioners about contacting an exterminator. He also inquired about putting the city’s tornado siren switch in the dispatch center. The city’s Emergency Management Center is at the police department, and the board agreed that the responsibility of the city siren should remain with the city.
The above are the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of the Daviess County Central 9-1-1 Board held on June 24. Present were Larry Belshe, Daniel Skinner, Misse Tolen and Mark Richards. Absent were John Sullenger and Troy Souders. Also present were supervisor Carder and dispatcher Jones.
