Sharon and Dennis Steigerwalt of Gallatin would like to announce the upcoming marriage of their youngest son, Eric, to Tanya Bird, daughter of Pamela Bird and William Bowley of Sydney, Australia.
Eric and Tanya have traveled from Sydney, where they currently reside, to be married in Gallatin at 7 p.m. on July 3. The ceremony and reception will be held in the Steigerwalt gardens.
Eric is a Gallatin High School graduate, who subsequently served five years in the Marine Corps as an air craft mechanic, reaching the rank of sergeant. Following his honorable discharge from the service, Eric moved to Australia in 1999, where he completed a bachelor of design at the University of New South Wales in 2003. He is currently working as a graphic designer in Sydney. Eric’s design work includes Sydney Opera House exhibitions and Australian Film productions.
Having grown up in Australia, Tanya is a graduate of Bomaderry High School in New South Wales and has subsequently completed university studies in human resources management, most recently completing a masters in human resources management (2003) through Charles Sturt University. Tanya is employed as a senior human resources manager with one of Asia Pacific’s largest telecommunications providers.
