Memorial services for Maynard Adams, father of Ronda Caldwell of Winston, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Grandview Church, Breckenridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family and/or Comfort Care Hospice in care of Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Mr. Adams’ body was donated to science.
Maynard LaVere Adams, 75, Cameron, died June 16, 2004, at a local nursing home, after a lengthy illness of Parkinson’s Disease.
Mr. Adams was born in Breckenridge on Sept. 8, 1928. He was one of nine children born to Frank and Gertrude (Wilson) Adams.
Mr. Adams ran heavy equipment for many years. He also owned and operated Sunrise Guest Home, Kingman, Ariz.; and Abe’s Hideaway, Winston.
On Aug. 15, 1951, he married Bessie Chance in Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Russell; one sister, Louise Howell; four sons, Herby, Hervy, Gary and Stanley; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie; four other daughters, Gertrude Caldwell, Breckenridge, Beverly Lee, Cameron, Carolyn Willey, Kingman, and Sarah Martin, Demmit, Texas; three sons, Merrill, Breckenridge, Danny, Little Valley, N.Y.; and Isaac, Chino Valley, Ariz.; three brothers, Loren “Bob”, Edgewater, Fla., Raymond, Trenton, and Dwane, Dawn; two sisters, Patricia Tippit, Littleton, Colo., and Kati Minnes, Hale; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
