The Winston R-6 Board of Education accepted the resignation of David Neth as school board member during their regular meeting on Thursday, June 17. Due to a fire this winter, Mr. Neth moved out of the school district. He is planning to move back into the district at a later time.
In financial matters, the board adopted a resolution to transfer funds from the Fund I to the Fund IV account. The 2003-2004 budget was amended to reflect current expenditures. The 2004-2005 salary was set with a base of $22,000. Increment raises were also given and insurance coverage was increased from $2,400 to $2,700 a year. The 2004-2005 budget was adopted.
The tuition rate for non-resident students for 2004-2005 was set at $3,500.
During principal’s reports Mrs. Bielby reported preschool enrollment of 19 and enrollment in kindergarten through sixth at 113.
One hundred students enrolled in summer school.
The board reviewed and approved program evaluations dealing with attendance data; suspension and expulsion rates; and budget analysis.
Naught-Naught Insurance Company was selected to provide student insurance.
Summer bus storage location was approved at the Winston Pit Stop.
Final core data report was approved.
The special education assurance statement for 2004-2005 was adopted.
