Ladies V.F.W. collecting for Buddy Poppy Saturday

The Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post #2172, Gallatin, will be collecting donations for the annual Buddy Poppy fund-raising drive on Saturday, May 29, from 8-10 a.m. at the four-way stop on the square.

The Buddy Poppy is the official memorial flower of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and is the symbol of the pledge to “Honor the Dead by Helping the Living”; by perpetuating the memories of thousands of selfless military service members who died so all United States citizens could live free.

All donations collected for Buddy Poppies stay in the Gallatin area for assistance to needy or disabled veterans, their family members, widows or orphans; for entertainment, care and assistance for hospitalized veterans; for rehabilitation, welfare and service work; and to perpetuate the memory of deceased veterans’ monuments and memorials.

It is particularly important for all of us to honor our brave military members currently serving our country in overseas areas along with the war veterans of past armed conflicts. Please help the Ladies Auxiliary with your donation on Saturday morning.
