NCMC announces honor students
North Central Missouri College in Trenton has named students with outstanding academic achievement for the 2004 spring semester to the Academic Honors List.
Students named to the President’s List received a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Students achieving Dean’s List recognition received a 3.5 GPA To be eligible for the full-time honors list, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours that contributed toward their GPA for the semester.
Part-time students at North Central must have completed 18 hours and must have been enrolled in at least three credit hours during the 2004 spring term. The credit hours must have contributed toward the GPA to be considered for the honors list.
Students on the full-time Presidents List are Barbara Martin, Kristin Payne and Rachel Miller, all of Jamesport.
Students on the part-time President’s List are Jena Eads, Coffey; Tiffony Esposito, Vicky Hiley, Jana Lee and Kim Spidle, all of Gallatin; Alison Cornell, Jamesport.
Students on the full-time Dean’s List are Priscilla Johnson and Matthew Rogers, both of Altamont; Jennie Ellis, Coffey; Marjorie Barlow, Brook Carder, Leesa Dickerson, Tracey Jeffers, Jessica King and Cassandra Richards, all of Gallatin; Penelope Kimberling, Jamesport; and Amber Estep, Winston.
Students on the part-time Dean’s List are Gay Buzzin and Michelle McMahon, both of Coffey, Julie Fisher, Jameson; and Melody Prescott, Jamesport.
SMSU spring graduates bid farewell
Southwest Missouri State University conferred 1,921 degrees to students this spring during commencement ceremonies held on May 14 in Hammons Student Center. A total of 1,479 baccalaureate degrees, 429 master’s degrees and 13 specialist degrees were conferred. Ryan
Taverna of Gallatin received a B.S. degree.
Cornett elected Student Senate president at NWMSU
Pattonsburg R-2 graduate Chase Cornett, was elected Student Senate president for the 2004-05 academic year at Northwest Missouri State University, where he is a junior.
Cornett’s goals for senate next year are to collaborate with more campus organizations, to continue to get the Student Senate name out and to better listen to student voices.
“We want to continue to work hard,” Cornett said. “Students can expect to see Student Senate taking action on campus issues, using more forums to gain the student voice, increasing publicity
of events and updating the senate web site with more interactive features.
Hangley & Stidham complete programs at Vatterott
Austin Hangley of Pattonsburg has earned a diploma in the electrical mechanics program at Vatterott College in Kansas City
Sherrie Stidham of Gallatin has received an Associate of Occupations Studies Degree in the Medical Office Assistant program at Vatterott College in St. Joseph.
Vatterott College is a private career college offering specialized, technology-focused, hands-on training programs in the fastest growing industries. The Kansas City and Joseph campuses offer programs focused on the information technology, healthcare, cosmetology and technical trade industries.
NCMC nursing school honors Winston student
Six members of the North Central Missouri College graduating class of nursing students were recognized on Saturday afternoon for academic excellence.
Among those honored for highest overall GPA in the nursing program were Flor de Canela Brown of Winston.
Twenty graduates received pins at the annual pinning ceremony held on the NCMC campus in Trenton.
