Xi Xi Beta, Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Tuesday, May 4, at the home of Shirley Leakey. There were 11 members present. The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved. Founder’s Day, April 17, at Seasons on the Square with members from the Laurette Delta Rho
Chapter and the Alpha Zeta Delta Chapter was discussed. Other socials, Ways and Means, Service, and other chapter business was discussed. The program topic was on “Investments” by guest speaker Bill Hartman. Shirley served supper followed by desserts before the meeting. Lesa and Lori entertained us with some renditions of old school songs. Next meeting is at 7:30 on June 1 at the home of Sandy Vyrostek.
Laureate Delta Rho members met May 17 at the home of Peggy Noel. After a tour of her garden, members had a salad supper. Three guests were present. Service committee reported collecting nine bags of trash and some cases of poison ivy on the GARA clean up project. Linda
Bridgeman was recognized for perfect attendance. Nancy Terry presented a review of programs and Linda Adkins received the Program of the Year award. Ruth Frost presented Sue Gillilan with the Woman of the Year award.
