Longtime Gallatin teacher and coach Doug Nichols will be the Commencement speaker during graduation ceremonies to be held 3 p.m. this sunday, May 16, in the Gallatin R-5 gymnasium. Mr. Nichols has taught at Gallatin R-5 since 1984. He is the 1982 graduate of Missouri Valley College where he worked as an admissions counselor during 1983-84. He and his wife, Jackie, married in 1995. They have three children: Tyler, Cori and Caleb. Both Tyler and Cori are members of this year’s graduating class of 49 seniors. Mr. Nichols is certified to teach grades K-12 physicla education, K-9 health, and 7-9 social studies. He has coached varsity football and wrestling while at Gallatin.
