Memorial services for Annabel Wilkerson were held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gallatin. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin.

Annabel Wilkerson, 92, Gallatin, died April 23, 2004, at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin.

Mrs. Wilkerson was born Oct. 14, 1911, to James M. and Mattie “Mills” Smith on the family farm near Jameson. She graduated from both Jameson High School in 1929 and the Chillicothe Business School a year later.

Mrs. Wilkerson worked at the Bank of Gallatin for 35 years as an assistant cashier and secretary of the board.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gallatin since 1935. She served as Associational President of the Women’s Missionary Union for several years. She was also a member of the Muddy Creek Ramblers. She did volunteer work at the Daviess County Care Center.

On April 12, 1936, she married Ollie “Doc” Wilkerson in Gallatin. He died in 1951.

She was also preceded in death by a cousin, Fleta White.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Foster, Chillicothe; and nephew, Lloyd Hartpence, Gallatin.
