Each year the Lake Viking Lions Club awards two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors from two local high schools. This year’s scholarships were awarded to Nicki Klingensmith of Winston High School and Britt Caleb Leeper from Gallatin High School.
Nicki’s plans are to enroll at William Jewell College in Liberty. Her field of study is early child development. Caleb has already been accepted at Devry University in Kansas City where he will seek a degree in biomedic engineering.
The recipients were introduced at the regular meeting of the Lake Viking Lions Club on Thursday, April 15. Nicki and Caleb are pictured with Vice-President Gordon Harrah, center, Caleb’s mother, Lesa Leeper, right, and Nicki’s grandmother, Phyllis King, left. Nicki was also accompanied by her aunt, Brenda King.
Bob Clemens and Charlotte Allen represented the club in making the scholarship selections.
