Dorothy L. (Schumacher) Werner, 93, of St. Joseph, died Monday, April 19, 2004, at a local health-care center.
Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy L. Werner, mother of Frances J. Clemens of Gallatin, was held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday), at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, St. Joseph. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Parish rosary was at 6 p.m. Tuesday, at the chapel. The family has requested memorials to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Mrs. Werener was born July 4, 1910, in St. Joseph, to Henry and Frances J. (Brunner) Schumacher.
She was a nurse’s aide and unit secretary at Sister’s Hospital for 15 years until her retirement.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Altar Society, and was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church until its closing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Werner, Sr. on April 28, 1992; a brother, Fred Schumacher; four sisters, Gertrude Schumacher, Henrietta Gordon, Agnes Leggett and Frances Schumacher; and three grandchildren, Ronald Marshall, Robert Clemens Jr. and Lorelie Clemens.
Other survivors include her children, Lawrence E. Werner Jr., Kansas City, Kan.; William J. Werner, Savannah; Mary Ann Marshall, St. Joseph; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great- grandchildren.
