Karate Kids! Leibold boys have fast fists, strong punch

Isaac and Matthew Leibold, grandsons of Larry and Jan Johnson, participated in the Liberty Missouri Karate Tournament held March 14.

Isaac placed first in fastest fist and escape drill. He is a yellow belt and this was his first tournament.

Matthew is a purple belt and got third on strongest punch and second on Kata which is a sequence of moves put together to develop strength and technique. He also received a participation trophy and a trophy for sparring.

Isaac and Matthew are sons of Mandy and Terry Leibold, Lawrence, Kan.

Over 350 children from Missouri, Kansas and Iowa participated in the day-long tournament with Matt and Isaac competing against 20 or 30 in each event.
