Funeral services for Colman Franks, formerly of Jameson, were held Saturday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Grand River Cemetery, Jameson. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Jameson, or Mid-American Heart Institute.

Colman Franks, 80, Cameron, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.

Mr. Franks was born in Gallatin on Jan. 25, 1924, to Charles and Vernice (Dunnington) Franks. He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1942.

Mr. Colman joined the Army in 1943, where he served with the 4th Armored Division during World War II and received an honorable discharge in 1945.

Mr. Colman worked as a lineman for the Missouri Telephone Company in Gallatin for over 30 years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jameson.

He married Barbara June Cannon on Oct. 15, 1950, in Gallatin. They resided in Jameson during the 45 years of their marriage. She died in 1997. Mr. Colman lived in Gallatin for a brief time, before moving to the Veterans Home in Cameron.

He was also preceded in death by two brother, Freeman and James.

Survivors include one son, David, Osborn; two daughters, Carol Ann Walker, Gallatin, and Susan Teegarden, Peculiar; three brothers, Sidney and Alvin, Gallatin, and Leon, Reeds Spring; three sisters, Irene Brown, Alamosa, Colo., Marge Smith, Cameron, and Colene McMasters, Largo, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
