It took two cranes to move this 160,000 pound press at Landmark Manufacturing Friday afternoon, March 19, according to James Critten, even though it is not as large as many of the other presses at the plant. The process required exacting measurements to settle the press on its base over an 18 foot pit. About 155 yards of concrete was poured. A building will be put up around the press once it is in place. The whole process to get it up and running will take at least two months. The hydraulic press is used mainly for forming deep-draw parts for Kubota, Case, John Deer and government parts.
