The re-enrollment deadline for current members of the Missouri Senior Rx Program has been extended to July 30, 2004. The program’s 15-member Commission resolved that members may have missed the Feb. 28, 2004, enrollment deadline imposed by state statute because they may not have received a re-enrollment application in the mail or one arrived too late. The deadline extension does not apply to new applicants, those who applied to the program for the first time in January and February 2004, or those who previously applied but did not qualify for the program.
The state-drug program is designed to provide affordable drugs for low and moderate-income seniors. It pays 60 percent of prescription costs for eligible seniors after they pay a $25 or $35 enrollment fee and meet an annual deductible. Every year, the program’s open-enrollment period starts January 1 and ends February 28. Members and first-time applicants are signing up for prescription drug benefits that begin July 1.
