Anna Frances Brown, 85, Chillicothe, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Funeral services for Anna Brown, a native of Kidder, will be held at 12 noon Thursday, March 25, at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Friends may call after noon on Wednesday. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Civil Bend Christian Cemetery, Pattonsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Civil Bend Christian Cemetery.
Anna Frances Brown, 85, Chillicothe, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Mrs. Brown was born April 3, 1918, to Julius and Henrietta “Mylar” Salisbury in Kidder. She graduated from Kidder High School and attended colleges in Kirksville and Warrensburg.
On May 1, 1943, she married Charles G. Brown in Miami, Okla. He died in 1971.
The Browns moved to Chillicothe in 1954 to make their home. She taught in Potter and Broderick rural schools. She later was employed with Head Start Schools for 20 years, retiring in 1989.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kidder.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy; two brothers, William Albert Salisbury and Harry J. Salisbury; and one sister, Mary Emma McClain.
Survivors include two sons, David Brown of Cameron and Charles Wesley Brown of Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Betty McCollum of Brookfield and Joyce Bodenhamer of Boonville; two sisters, Fern Schurr of Anza, Calif., and Julia Marie Critten of Breckenridge; and six grandchildren.
