Funeral services for Emma Shields were held Sunday at the Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany. Burial will be in Springer Chapel Cemetery, Gilman City. Memorial contributions may be made to Harrison County Community Hospital Auxiliary Fund in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany.

Emma Shields, 81, Jamesport, died March 12, 2004, at a Bethany hospital.

Mrs. Shields, a homemaker, was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Harrison County, the daughter of Merlen and Maun (Neff) Maple.

On Jan. 21, 1946, she married Myron Shields. He died on Sept. 6, 1984.

Mrs. Shields was a member of the Gilman City Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Shields was also preceded in death by one brother, Vivan Maple; and two sisters, Edra Mumma and Lois Smith.

Survivors include two daughters, Marsha Clark of Jamesport, and Beverly Johns of Independence; one sister, Martiele Budimlija of Kansas City, Kan; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
