Funeral and Masonic service for Glen Lowry were held Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Maysville. Interment was at Oak Lawn Cemetery, with military rites by Stewartsville American Legion Post No. 508. Memorials may be made to Comfort Care Hospice for supplies and medication, or Sunset Home for durable medical equipment in care of Bram Funeral Home, P.O. Box 350, Maysville, 64469.

Glen F. “Tally” Lowry, 78, Maysville, died March 8, 2004, at Sunset Nursing Home in Maysville. Mr. Lowry was born April 4, 1925, near Winslow. He was a 1943 graduate of Maysville high school.

During World War II, he served in the United States Navy. After his return, he attended the University of Kansas.

Mr. Lowry was employed by J.L. Brown Lumber Co., Jones Contractor Co., and was a supervisor with Brown and Root Construction Co. overseas.

He was a member of Parrott Masonic Lodge No. 308, Maysville; Scottish Rite Bodies and Moila Shrine Temple, both of St. Joseph; lifetime member of the V.F.W.; member of the American Legion Post No. 508, Stewartsville; and member of the Moose Lodge. He also was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church, Maysville.

On Sept. 4, 1976, he married Goldie McKillip Brunk. She survives of the home.

Mr. Lowry was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sarah (Hines) Lowry; a sister, Opal Kerns; and brothers, Lewis and Marvin Lowry.

Other survivors include one stepdaughter, Scheryl Brunk; one stepson, Donnie Brunk; two stepgrandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
