George “G. F.” Rowland, 68, of Lorimor, Iowa, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines from complications of Alzheimer’s.
George “G. F.” Rowland, 68, of Lorimor, Iowa, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines from complications of Alzheimer’s.
Funeral services for George Rowland will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 11, 2004, at the First Church of God in Lorimor. A visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m., today (Wednesday) at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, where the family will be present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Lorimor Cemetery in Lorimor immediately following funeral services. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Mr. Rowland was born March 27, 1935, in Gallatin, the son of Herman “Chuck” and Cuma (Cox) Roland.
He was a warehouse foreman for Ginsberg’s Furniture in Des Moines for many years, charter bus driver and retired from Appletree Children’s Center in Urbandale.
He married Donna Lou Woods on June 13, 1953, in Gallatin.
Mr. Rowland was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Millie, Opal and Sharon.
Survivors include his wife, Donna of Lorimor; two daughters, Deana Rowland and Cristi Hoakison both of Lorimor; two sons, Todd Rowland of Lorimor and Scott Rowland of Urbandale; and seven grandchildren.
