Genevieve Black, 87, Jamesport, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004.
Funeral services for Genevieve Black were held Friday at the Jamesport United Methodist Church. Burial was at Masonic Cemetery, Jamesport. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Jamesport. Memorials may be made to her church.
Genevieve Black, 87, Jamesport, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004.
Mrs. Black was born July 9, 1916, to Fred DeWitt and Edith “Chinnock” Wild in Pleasanton, Kan. She graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1934.
On Feb. 14, 1937, she married D. Black in Pleasanton. In 1942, they moved to Jamesport and lived on the family farm until her husband D. died in 1965. Mrs. Black then moved to the town of Jamesport where she lived for 35 years.
Mrs. Black was a member of the Jamesport United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Freddie and Elwood Black; one granddaughter, Shawna Marie Black; two brothers, Francis and Wilford Wild; two sisters, Gwen Wuttke and Nathalie Penson.
Survivors include one son, Tony Black, Neosho; one daughter, Gene Alexander, Jamesport; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
