Law Day was conducted March 4 by Judge Stephen K. Griffin. The following cases were heard:
Andrew Lee Giles was granted a dissolution of marriage from Cybill K. Giles.
A dissolution of marriage was granted to Amy Curtis from Scotty Curtis.
Bill Latimer was granted a dissolution of marriage from Penny Latimer.
In State of Missouri vs. Lyle Nieman, the defendant plead guilty to the Class B felony of attempted theft of anhydrous ammonia and was sentenced to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections with 120 day callback pursuant to section 559.115 RSMo.
Ronnie L Stevens plead guilty to two counts of failure to return rented property, Class C felonies. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.
Probation was revoked for Rob Fredricks on the Class C felony of receiving stolen property. He was ordered to serve the previously imposed sentence of five years in the Department of Corrections.
Probation was revoked for Samuel Whiteaker on the Class B felony of robbery 2nd degree. The previously imposed sentence of 15 years was ordered executed.
Larry Alan Funk plead guilty to possession of a controlled substance, Class C felony. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.
Allen L. Konopasek, Jr., plead guilty to 2 counts of Class D felony non-support. The imposition of sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years probation, under the supervision of the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole.
In State vs. Brian Roup, probation was revoked on the Class D felony of non-support. The previously imposed sentence of five years in the Department of Corrections was ordered executed.
The following case was heard by Judge Roger M. Prokes: In State of Missouri vs. Randall D. Kitchen, probation was revoked on the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance and he was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections. Kitchen had also been charged in Mercer County with second degree murder on Nov. 26, 2002, and plead guilty to an amended charge of voluntary manslaughter in Harrison County on a change of venue. Sentencing on the manslaughter charge is set for March 10.
