Paige (Helton) Zimmerman will participate in a marathon to be held in Anchorage, Alaska, on June 19. Mrs. Zimmerman has chosen to run to support The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of three people: Terry Murray, Kelly Vanatta, and Brian Duly. Last year all three were diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Mrs. Zimmerman has already begun her 24 week training for the 26.2 mile marathon. She is required to personally raise $4,500 to cover her travel costs. The balance goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Of the funds 75.3% goes to patient and community service, public health/education, professional education and research. The balance of 24.7% goes to management and fund raising.
