Ellen Lavonne Brown, 72, Osborn, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services for Ellen Brown, formerly of Pattonsburg, were held Sunday at the Alta Vista Church in Weatherby, under the direction of the Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg. Burial was in the Alta Vista Cemetery, Weatherby. Memorials may be made to the Comfort Care Hospice, Cameron.
Ellen Lavonne Brown, 72, Osborn, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at her home.
The first daughter of Willie W. and Buelah Ethyl (Hall) Taylor was born Aug. 9, 1931, at Polo, in Caldwell County. She was a 1973 graduate of the Kansas City Medical Assistant College.
On Sept. 7, 1947, in Polo, she was united in marriage to Donald Lee Brown. He died on March 3, 1998.
Mrs. Brown had been employed as a sewing machine operator and medical assistant. She also helped with the family business, Brown Lumber.
Mrs. Brown worked as a volunteer in the VISTA Community Development and Certificate of Training in the Ombudsman Program.
In 1985, she and her husband moved from Daviess County to Clay County, Glenaire.
They attended Abundant Life Fellowship in Liberty.
After the death of her husband, she moved to Osborn and attended Word of Life in St. Joseph. She was a member of the Federation of Republican Women and the Tree Climbers of Pattonsburg.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Uthe, Camdenton, Donna Magness, Osborn, and Deborah Lacy, Kansas City; one son, Greg, Pattonsburg; three sisters, Frances Proffit, St. Joseph, Betty Rice, California, and Charlene Woods, Cameron; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
