Graveside services and burial for Maurine Sanders, formerly of Coffey, were held Saturday at Antioch Cemetery in Bethany. Arrangements were by Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation in care of the funeral home.
Maurine Sanders, 79, Bethany, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at a North Kansas City hospital..
Mrs. Sanders was born on June 21, 1924, in Gilman City, the daughter of Hermal and Lucille (Black) Weathers. She graduated from Gilman City High School in 1943.
Mrs. Sanders worked at the hospital and Place’s Store in Bethany and at the Hy Way Café.
She was a member of the Gilman City Baptist Church.
On Dec. 14, 1946, she married Russell Sanders in Troy, Kan. He died on March 5, 1985.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Janell Cox.
Survivors include her two sons, Larry of Bethany and Gail Sanders of Ridgeway; one daughter, Jean Myers of Coffey; one brother, Marvin Weathers of Gallatin; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren.
