Funeral services for Grace White, a native of Lock Springs, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, Gladden-Stamey Chapel. Interment will be at No. 6 Cemetery, Gower. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, at the chapel, where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m.
Grace M. (Hoyt) White, 76, St. Joseph, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. White was born March 19, 1927, at Lock Springs, to the late Harvey and Myrtle (Stout) Hoyt.
She worked as a cashier at Safeway and Speedy’s and was a wire binder with Whitaker Cable. Mrs. White was a member of Copeland Baptist Church and Retail Clerks Union.
She married Benjamin Franklin Starke and he died April 1986. She married Munroe White Sr., Aug. 5, 1974, at St. Joseph, and he died March 1989.
Also preceding in death was a son, Larry White; brothers, Harold in infancy; John “Doc”; Howard “George”; Calvin; Harvey and Paul Hoyt and a sister, Beverly Starke.
Survivors include two sons, Dean Starke, St. Joseph and John Starke, Kansas City; one daughter, Ferril Schooler, St. Joseph; one brother, Charles Hoyt, La Cygne, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
