The Gallatin Youth Wrestling Club finds itself in the midst of a busy month of competition
The Gallatin Youth Wrestling Club finds itself in the midst of a busy month of competition, capped by a trip this Saturday to Polo for more tournament competition. The club recently hosted its second annual tournament and participated last weekend in a tournament held in Trenton.
Thirteen teams and 235 kids representing Trenton, Maysville, Rolla, Higginsville, St. Joseph, Kirksville, Kearney, South Holt, Savannah, Brookfield, Carrollton, North Platte and Chillicothe converged on Gallatin on Jan. 17. Each wrestler who participated received a trophy. The sportsmanship award, selected by referees who officiated the tournament, was presented to the Maysville club.
Following are individual place finishes of Gallatin wrestlers: 1st place– Dale Ray Curtis and Matt Schieber; 2nd place– Kase Critten, Bradley Rhoades, Chad Ness, Devin First, Jake Muff, Riley
Vanatta, John First, Stephen Wood and Cody Selby; 3rd place–Zane Snow, Dakota Porter, Kevin Eaton, Bryton Bowles and Levi Michener; and 4th place–Robert Rhoades and Derrick McBroom.
Last Saturday the Gallatin Youth Wrestling Club traveled to Trenton, where 12 teams from all over North Missouri competed. Gallatin received the 3rd place achievement trophy with only 16 wrestlers present that day. Each wrestler received points toward the team trophy based on individual placing. Maysville won the team trophy with 37 wrestlers present. Cameron finished runnerup with 32 wrestlers competing.

Dale Ray Curtis, Cody Selby and Stephen Wood will travel to Liberty on Feb. 13 to compete in nationals.
