Gallatin’s boys put the defensive clamps on Worth County last Friday night and came away 50- 18 winners over the Tigers in the Grand River Conference opener for both schools. The Bulldogs’ victory was their 14th in their last 15 conference games dating back to late January of 2001.

Gallatin’s stifling defensive effort also meant a balanced scoring night for the unbeaten (8-0) Dogs. Marcus Lacy led the way with 11 points, blocked four shots and pulled down seven rebounds. Colby Swanstone turned in a balanced performance with seven points, nine rebounds, four shot blocks and five steals. Jeremiah Gibson also scored seven points to go with four steals and three assists. Kyle Hefley notched six points for the Bulldogs. Andrew Adkison grabbed six rebounds in limited playing time.

The Bulldogs exit this week’s Lawson Tournament into a home date next Tuesday against Plattsburg. Gallatin jumps back into the league schedule a week from Friday at Albany.
