Over 3,500 first year FFA members from over 230 Missouri High Schools had the opportunity to learn about being positive role models, making sound choices, becoming active team members and making a positive difference in their school and community at the annual Greenhand Motivational Conferences. These conferences presented by the State FFA Officers were held Jan. 6-9, 2004, throughout Missouri.

The conferences, sponsored by MFA, Inc. are unique in the United States. Through workshops and presentations during a four day period, State FFA Officers traveled throughout the state using a pirate theme to motivate Greenhands, who are first year FFA members.

The State FFA Officers are college freshmen representing over 21,000 FFA member sin Missouri. At the Greenhand Motivational Conferences, they helped the new agriculture students to set goals for their education, their careers and their FFA projects.
