A memorial graveside service for Virgil Souders Sr. will be held at a later date at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. The body has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany.
Virgil Souders Sr., 82, Jamesport, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003.
Mr. Souders was born Jan. 23, 1921, in Gilman City, the son of Mathew Thomas and Rosie Belle (Hancock) Souders.
He served in the Army during World War II.
On September 9, 1950, he married Betty Louise Holley in Jamesport. She survives of the home.
Mr. Souders had worked for the city of Jamesport prior to his retirement.
He was a member of V.F.W. Post #4131 in Jamesport.
Mr. Souders was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Souders.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one son, Virgil Souders Jr. of Jamesport.
