Memorial services for Illa M. McCrary will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Inurnment will be at the Turney Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Turney Cemetery, in care of McWilliams Funeral Home.

Illa McCrary, 72, Gilman City, died Dec. 28, 2003, at the Liberty Hospital.

Mrs. McCrary was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Turney. She attended the Turney High School.

Mrs. McCrary worked as a cook for the McDonald’s Tea Room in Gallatin for several years. She then owned and operated the Bethany Café. She also worked as a cook at Charlene’s in Bethany.

She married John McCrary on Aug. 1, 1949, in Liberty.

Mrs. McCrary was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Flo Morey; a brother, Jack Morey; and two stepbrothers, Roy and Lavaughn Blosser.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, John; five sons, John of Albany, Ronnie, David, and Darrell, all of Gilman City, and Dennis of Barnard; two sisters, Ruth Lewellan of Kansas and Hilda Blosser of Turney; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
