Funeral services for Virginia Ramsbottom were held Saturday at McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Gallatin.

Virginia Ramsbottom, 89, Gallatin, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at the Liberty hospital.

Mrs. Ramsbottom was born March 23, 1914, to William Henry and Elva “Lister” Hall in Cameron.

On Oct. 11, 1932, she married Charles “Oren” Ramsbottom in Kingston. He died in December 1974. The Ramsbottoms lived on the family farm until moving to Gallatin in 1968 to make their home.

Mrs. Ramsbottom was employed at the International Shoe Factory in Hamilton for seven years, then at Lambert’s Manufacturing in Gallatin for 11 years, retiring in 1976.

She was a member of the Gallatin First Christian Church and the Hamilton Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles, in 1970; two brothers, Archie and Jack Hall; and three sisters, Nellie Reed, Evalena Bochat and Minervia Winnegarner.

Survivors include two sons, Don, Gallatin, and Bob, Magnet, Ind.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
