In State of Missouri vs. Michael S. Bailey, in a hearing held in Clinton County on Dec. 5, a change of venue was granted and the case was transferred to Clinton County. Bailey is charged with 11 counts of the Class C felony of statutory rape 2nd degree, 14 counts of the Class C felony of statutory sodomy 2nd degree, 2 counts of the Class C misdemeanor of assault 3rd degree, and 1 count of the Class A misdemeanor of child molestation 2nd degree.
A 4-day jury trial was set to begin June 7, 2004. Bond was set at $100,000 with the following conditions: defendant must live with his parents, remain under their control, must not leave Buchanan County, and must not have any contact with anyone under the age of 18.
Criminal cases filed: State of Missouri vs. Laura E. Jungers, DWI, Class D felony; State vs. Guy D. Povlitzke, possession of controlled substance, Class C felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor.
Civil cases filed: Glenda Belle Burton vs. Bertha Donnette Maurer, partition of land; J.T. Newby vs. Ron Hinkle and Bob Pierce, damages; Terrance Jason Hoover vs. Rebecca Lynn Hoover, dissolution of marriage.
A dissolution of marriage was granted to Max Scott Egbert from Carrie Leigh Egbert on Dec. 3, 2003.
