The Small Business Development Center at Chillicothe is sponsoring a seminar designed specifically for those who are thinking about a new business venture. Starting a Business: The First Steps will be held from 9 a.m.-12 noon on Fri., Dec. 5, at City Hall, 715 Washington, Chillicothe.

This three-hour seminar will provide participants with an overview of the critical first steps associated with starting a business. Participants will assess their strengths and weaknesses in terms of business ownership, learn about the importance of planning, discuss legal and regulatory requirements, and identify sources of funding.

At the end of this learning experience, participants will be able to identify resources that will assist them in starting a business in Missouri, identify areas in which they need additional training or assistance for the operation of their business, and find out if business ownership is for them.
