The Gallatin Park Board received word from the North Pole at their regular meeting held Monday, Nov. 17. Santa will be available at the park to have his picture taken with area children from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Candy and fruit gifts will be handed out.
Anyone interested in adopting an area of the park for Christmas decorating should contact Sharon Berten at 663-2659.
The board is discussing the possibility of a New Year’s dance.
The park’s new baseball coordinator for the 2004 season is Bob Robertson. The board decided to request public input regarding baseball at the park.
The board is checking into a soccer field for younger age groups.
The walking and nature trail is finished. Benches and signs will be in place soon.
The new counter top has been installed in the park building.
Handicap rails and a play set for the children’s play area were discussed. The board decided more information was needed.
The next meeting for the Gallatin Park Board was set at 7 p.m. on Dec. 15.
