The lighting ceremony of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree will unfold at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, on the east side of the Daviess County Courthouse in Gallatin. Santa will be there to greet children, and holiday music will be presented by members of the Gallatin R-5 High School choir.
A number of prizes will be raffled off during this event, courtesy of local businesses. Tickets are free and may be picked up at participating businesses before Saturday, Nov. 29. You must be present at Monday’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony to win prizes being given away.
Those giving away $25 gift certificates include Elbert’s Department Store, Frost Automotive, Barton’s Do It Best Hardware, Gallatin Appliance & Rentals, Lila’s Gift & Collectibles, D.H. Davis Drug, Jack’s Tire & Muffler, Lynch’s Supermarket, Gallatin Publishing Company, Second Choices & Video House, Flower Bin, T&D Auto Supply, John’s BP Amoco, Rains Natural Meats, Pamida, and 3B Silversmiths.
The City of Gallatin will give away a free utility bill (the November billing due Dec. 10th; businesses not eligible). Corner Cafe is giving away two prime rib dinners. Breadeaux Pizza is giving away three pizza cards. Flowers Unlimited is giving away a gift basket ($25 value). Tanya’s Styling Salon is giving away a gift pack of styling and salon products. Eleine’s Beauty Shop is giving away a jewelry box filled with styling products.
A $100 bill is to be raffled by Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri; the BTC Bank is giving away a $100 EE Bond.
