Gallatin postal employees have been recognized for their outstanding performance in customer service with the “Order of the Yellow Jersey” flag and certificate. The award recognizes post offices that score high in the areas of accuracy, consistency and courtesy.
Customers are contacted by mail and asked to respond to a variety of questions about the quality of mail delivery by postal carriers and the courtesy of postal sales clerks at the retail counter. Customers are also asked to score the post office lobby on overall cleanliness and appearance as well as product availability and customer ease of use.
The survey results are tabulated by Price Waterhouse and sent to postal officials at the Mid-America District in Kansas City.
“Just as Lance Armstrong and the United States Postal Service Cycling Team delivered their fifth straight Tour de France victory, the Order of the Yellow Jersey award represents a similar dedication and team effort by these postal employees to go farther and work harder to satisfy their customer needs,” said Gallatin Postmaster Carl Wiles.
As the busy holiday season arrives, the Gallatin Post Office is looking forward to getting packages and letters delivered on time to its many customers.
International Christmas mailing dates are now in effect for our servicemen and women overseas. APO and FPO packages going parcel post should be in the mail no later than Nov. 28. APO and FPO packages going priority mail should be sent by Dec. 11. Whatever and wherever customers are mailing, the Gallatin mail carriers and postal clerks will do their best to make this a happy holiday for all.
