Barnwarming a huge success
The Gallatin Chapter of FFA and FCCLA held their annual Barnwarming on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Jeff Riley farm. Gallatin FFA Chapter President Mitch Riley served as host for the event. Over 150 members and guests were in attendance. Members enjoyed a night of round and square dancing, games and fun. J.R. Bird was the caller again this year and Dillon Bird also called a few times as relief for his grandfather.
Barnwarming Royalty this year included freshmen Andrew Adkison and Amy Hudelmeyer; sophomores Levi Alden and Hattie Rains; juniors Sean Wood and Becky Macy; and seniors Mitch Riley and Allie McLaughlin. Mitch and Hattie were crowned as king and queen this year.
Gallatin FFA holds annual trap shoot
The Gallatin FFA Chapter held its annual trap shoot recently. Over 50 members and guests were in attendance. Matt Hostetler was the winner of the individual shoot and Richie McLey and Wilson Tolen won the doubles competition. Mitch Riley won the elimination shoot.
Conservation Agent Alan Bradford supplied the thrower and rock for the shoot and also gave the members safety tips before the event began.
FFA hosts area event
The Gallatin FFA hosted the Area II Greenhand Initiation on Oct. 22. Over 300 members and guest were in attendance from the 23 schools in our area. Principal Mike Burrell welcomed the guests and state FFA Vice president Brook Carder was the guest speaker for the event.
Area II secretary Michelle Chadwick organized the event and took part in the ceremony. Gallatin had 37 of the 270 Greenhands that received their degree pin from advisor Chris Henderson. These included Andrew Adkison, Amy Anthuis, Jonathan Arnold, Tina Beck, Zack Bradley, Nic Burrell, Dessa Crum, Lacy Curtis, John Davis, Justin Duffy, Derick Eaton, Melissa Everman, Donegal Higgins, Amy Hudelmeyer, Charles Lollar, Derrick Love, Ethan Merrigan, Brandon Merritt, Samantha Mott, Riley Rains, Denelle Rhoades, Crystal Rogers, Jon Stephenson, Katie Story, Jamie Tummons, Brett Wilkinson, Kari Youtsey and Laura Youtsey.
