Lifelong Clay County resident and Platte County businessman Charles Broomfield has filed papers with the Federal Election Commission declaring his intention as a Democratic candidate to represent Missouri’s 6th District in Congress.

Mr. Broomfield has been a teacher of American History and American Government. He served eight years in the Missouri House of Representatives, 14 years as County Judge and Commissioner in Clay County. He started a self storage company in Platte County and ran his own government consulting/association management business for 27 years.

Mr. Broomfield lives with his wife Marsha in Gladstone, and has three married daughters and five grandchildren.
