Funeral services for Ruth Maurine Warren, mother of Shirley Wood of Gallatin, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at the Bethany Church of The Brethren in Stet. Burial will be in Van Horn Cemetery, Tina. Mrs. Warren will lie in state at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton from 1-7 p.m. today (Wednesday). The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Church of The Brethren and left at or mailed to the funeral home.

Ruth Maurine Warren, Carrollton, 97, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003.

Mrs. Warren was born on the family farm near Stet on March 5, 1906, to Charles Daniel and Fannie Brock Miller. She attended Prairie Flower Grade School near her home.

Mrs. Warren worked at Stanford Laundry, Nances Café and Smith’s Cleaners. In 1960, she moved to Warsaw, where along with her husband, she owned and operated Warren Antique Shop on Kaysinger Bluff. In the summer of 1972, they moved to Tina, where they operated a refinishing shop until Mr. Warren’s death. Mrs. Warren moved to Carrollton in March of 1983 to Valley View Apartments where she lived for 20 years.

Mrs. Warren was a member of the Bethany Church of The Brethren.

On Jan. 19, 1927, she married Otto Sebastian. He died on Aug. 11, 1947. On July 20, 1950, she married Robert C. Warren. He died on Dec. 28, 1982.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, John and Bill; three sisters, Florence, Catherine and Frances; one son Charles; one stepson, Robert, and his wife, Norma; and four grandchildren.

Survivors include one son Gerald of Carrollton; one other daughter, Virginia Davis of Sedalia; one stepdaughter, Dorothy Jean Knott of Carrollton; one brother, Azzle Miler, Chillicothe; 35 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.
